How To Fix the Schools

Peter Newman Brooks was educated at King Edward’s School, Birmingham, and Trinity College, Cambridge, where read the Historical Tripos. A University Prizeman in Ecclesiastical History holding the Crosse Studentship from 1956-1958, he gained a research award at Peterhouse, and as Supervisor at Magdalene College taught undergraduates reading for both parts of the Historical and Theological Tripos.

A regular contributor to various learned journals, including the Anglican Theological Review of America, the Arts Review, Bibliothèque d’Humaniste et Renaissance, the Cambridge Review, the Historical Magazine of the Protestant Episcopal Church, History, and Theology, Dr. Brooks has also contributed the revised article on Bishop Hugh Latimer to Collier’s Encyclopaedia.

Since proceeding Ph.D. for work in Reformation studies, he has served in three great English public schools, Shrewsbury, Magdalen College School and St. Paul’s where he is now head of the history department.
